well I am in a real shitty mood today because my purple entry is sucking an honestly I feel it is one of the best photos I have ever taken (well the whole series really but I chose the one that seemed most purple)
you guys can do censorship if you like I will try my best to offend. I will however put it under nude so it is hidden.
Knowing what crystal has planned some people may not like it either (but I think it is going to rock) |

Thanks man I think it does. The puritan ideal that is on this site lately is quite disturbing. I think Judi's SP was very tasteful and had a wonderful sentiment attached. Why some feel the need to pick on her is driving me insane. You got a problem with someone expressing themselves why are you here? That is what this place is about. At least I thought it was.
But fear not we will continue despite the FOOLS! I will not conform to your ideal of what you think I should be doing. You don't like DON'T LOOK!

Wow, all these SPs keep getting better all the time. Good thing that I didn't let anyone know that I've been having a go at it, too.

To answer your question, this place has done nothing to me. I've always been a fairly free spirit. However, don't get used to this type of thing, I do it very rarely.

That's funny in the SP's you seem so reserved yet you say you arent. in ym SP's i seem so open yet in real life i'm EXTREMELY reserved. odd how art makes weird things show up. |

Well, in the SPs, I'm trying to learn the how-to's and everything. I think learning leads to the more uptight kinda facade. I'm not comfortable with it just yet, once I am, it'll be a different me.

It's not just about children and whether or not they'd see more than we want. Computers are available in many places, public, work and private. I have the priviledge of checking sites on my break and lunch at work, but don't have the priviledge of bringing up nudes or other content deemed unsuitable for work (in my case the school system).
Having a link instead of a thumbnail allows me and others to view the general thread any time and the actual images that may be work/public sensitive at another time.
No, I didn't ask for the thumbnail to be changed. I do prefer that it is a link. I am glad that Judi is willing to break barriers and share the images of her soul. I hope that we all will, according to our comfort zones and the site guidelines.

I rarely say what I think about "issues". Have to speak up a bit though... Sorry. :( Personally I don't think that artistic nudity, or nudity of any kind, is going hurt anyone, especially any kid. It's parental and adult attitudes and reactions to nudity that determine the outcome of a person's experience with it, not the experience itself. One will warp one's child, not by disclosing nudity at any particular age, but by reacting in a strong negative way to it. I personally think the very existence of a "nudity filter" in the forums is a bad thing, but I realize I'm probably a lone voice on that one, with the exception of some of our European members.
North American attitudes to nudity are, in my view, deeply warped and schizophrenic. On the one hand, it's hidden at all costs from kids and treated like some kind of leprousy by many adults, and on the other, it's sought out with as much fervour as any religious experience. Just look at the number of views any picture placed in the "Nude" gallery gets. Sooner or later, this type of tragedy occurs.
I hate disclosing what I really feel about things, because I absolutely abhor alienating anyone from anything, or tipping my hand at the expense of potentially losing a friend. I'm deeply touched by MattO's post, and how he describes using this thread with his son, and having included my name in that description really makes me very happy. And his decisions regarding raising his boy are his alone. But revealing a naked body to any child isn't going to ruin that child. It may force a parent to answer a question he or she is uncomfortable with; but in that case, what's the real issue?

I don't. DPC wasn't started as family site. The first year I was here it was a place where one could be expressive and creative. Waivers had to be signed to allow < 13 year olds, parents knew (and still do) what they were allowing.

I didn't say I understood about needing to filter things. I didn't say I understood requests to SC. I didn't say anything like that. I am saying that I understand how a parent would want their child to not see things that the parent deems to be beyond their years. That's all I was trying to say.
I am a peacemaker by nature and I just hate how it seems like people can't see that a middle ground exists. Not just with this issue, but so many others as well.
When things feel like a personal attack that is one thing, but I don't see that a link rather than a thumbnail has to make everybody go up in arms.* I also think that if a parent is concerned, instead of sitting down with the child to view the thread, they can go through first, without the child, just to make sure.
... Okay now in the middle of this I just read Louis's reply. I think that a lot of it makes sense, and I admire his understanding of it ultimately being the parent's decision. I think though we need to understand that the people behind the scenes at DPC are trying to make this the best experience all the way around, and compromises will have to be made.
*What happened with the timing and things with Judi was really horrible, and I very definitely understand how things felt like a personal attack, Please don't accuse me of being insensitive to her. I am sorry if I am misinterpreting the whole "censorship" theme that is happening now as more reactionary (and less Judi-supportive) than it actually is. |

Ok I have just woken up and read everyones posts. There are a couple of things I would like to say.
Matt...fair enough. But why report mine and NOT all the other nude thumbnails in this challenge thread?
As for everything else......
My image was under Nude from word go. The 'hidden due to adult content' banners you see are put there manually.....BY ME! Yes, I bow down and do what is wanted of me. And still you badger me. The one time that I don't put that stupid banner up as I felt the figures were so small that it wouldn't be obvious....and look what happens. The thumbnail doesn't get hidden....it gets removed and suggested I replace the image. Now where is the logic in that.
And as for the hand in certain places. Do you want to know what I was doing? Well to bad...I will tell you. I was covering myself so people would have NO REASON to be offended. Unlike some people that show genitalia....I DON'T!!
Now if you have a gripe with me...then confront me once and for all. I am sick of the personal attacks...the threatening PM's...the insinuations about Kita....the disgusting comments that don't get removed from my images....the stupid remarks from your little group. I am fully aware of what you are doing.....of what goes on behind the scenes. If you have a problem with me then deal with it. If you don't like this site...then leave. But stop making trouble where it isn't necessary. I don't need you in my life and I will not tolerate you hurting anyone anymore. And if anybody reading this is wondering who I am referring to...don't worry. They are a group of people that think they control this site and I am not referring to SC. They know who they are. And they need to cut this crap out now.
And I am still not thread hijacking...because this is about the SP Challenge. I know you are watching my every move...! You will not find anything wrong with my work to be able to ban me.
Now back off and leave me alone so we can get back to having INNOCENT fun.
