[quote=argyle] You may want to check out eBay...I got this pack for $40 USD. Other similar packs with a detachable smaller pack retail for nearly $300 USD. It holds tons of stuff, and I can use the detachable pack for a light rainjacket, sweatshirt, or other gear just in case the weather turns for the worse. It will also carry a tripod. Here's the link: Laptop/Camera Backpack (I hope the link works).

If it only had wheels for when I travel... I'd be all over it! LOL

I use Lowepro bags extensivley, & find them fantastic for working photographers. I suggest you look at the computrekker, or computrekker plus, both carry laptops & a great range of gear, the plus model is the larger of the two. I have the computrekker plus (among many other Lowepro bags)

Just a note to Sunniee... I edited out the gigantic URL you had posted to the eBay site, not because I was trying to keep you from linking to it, but the link itself was affecting the width of the page, making people scroll left to right.

It looked as though the long version of the link was a replication of the "Laptop/Camera Backpack" link you had posted in your paragraph anyway.

I bought this one. A little heavy but it can hold all my lens and supplies.

Lowepro Photo Trekker AW II

Just have to figure out where to store the water bottles :p

I just got my Tamrac Cyberpack 8. I paid $149.95 shipped, got it on EBay. My only concern is that it's TO big for the equipment I have now. So, I have 2 choices 1: Sell it and get a smaller one or 2: Buy another camera.

Added: 3: Buy more lenses.

I also use the mini trekker AW by lowepro. I also considered Tamrac, but I felt that the pull-over rain protection was a better bet than those 'sealing' zippers for the long run. I can always repair and re-scotchguard a pull-over, but if those zippers start to go...

I ride a scooter and a bicycle in a place subject to torrential rains (I've had the thing fully loaded in torrential rains for more than an hour at a time with zero leakage) so that was a major deciding factor for me. On the other hand, if I didn't have to deal with the rains, I would have gone with the Tamrac.

They are just plain more comfortable, bigger and generally more functionally made.

Another advantage for me if I end up doing some traveling in more 'dodgy' parts of Asia, the waterproof part of the backpack also protects the zippers from being opened by less savory types. A few of my friends have been on trains in China and said that every few minutes they could feel hands gently probing their pockets, so having zipper protection was real peice of mind for them.

I wouldn't have had a problem with spending an extra hundred bucks US for that kind of quality and comfort. They are CAVERNOUS inside.

I bought a Crumpler "Brian's Hot Tub" bag last week that was discounted down by about a 1/3 off normal retail price. I also bought the belt for it, too.

This is a BIG bag that can handle a lot of photog gear in a pull out shell, as well as carry a 17" laptop. It is waterproof (not tested yet) and has that weird charm that all Crumpler stuff seems to have. I think it is probably about to be dropped from the Crumpler line.

Use to date has been great, allowing me to carry all of my gear with a laptop, all of my gear without a laptop, and carry the laptop and a large amount of stuff for work.

Did I mention that, just like me, it is big and heavy? :-)
