Nice shot. What was your lighting setup?
Edit: Rather, what sort of lighting did you use?

Or you could put gun in the title or follow your own advice about opinions on guns and gun safety.

Nice shot.
I don't mean to change the subject of this thread, but is there a good site that has a list of laws and requirements to own a handgun in California? |

lol.
gbautista... //www.packing.org -- although it seems to be down right now, at least for me...it's got a TON of info. You have to click accept to accept that you know you are responsible for knowing things that are up to date...but from what I've seen, that site is as up to date as they can possibly keep it.

Actually I figured it was some prime lens, this IS a photography site after all :P I like the shot though, except for whatever it sticking up in the lower left hand corner. |

haha. No, there are different types of ammunition. When I go to the range, I can get a box of 100 rounds for about $8 or so. When I have it loaded for protection, I have Speer Gold Dot 147 grain hollow point's in it -- they come in a box of 20 for abotu $17...obviously you don't want to shoot those at targets.

I'm no stranger to guns ... , but I totally missed the 9mm gun correlation in your title too. Thought it was some new camera equipment. DON'T LAUGH! Serious. ;^)
edit - forgot one.

Actully I thought it was a new XD memory card. Seemed reasonable to me.
I also didn't like the tone of being told not to voice my opinion, that's all.

Just one SB-600 off-camera and to the camera's right (my left). I think it was sitting on my ironing board...yes...you heard me, I own an ironing board...although I kind of inherited it.

Well, I didn't tell you NOT to voice your opinion, just that if you wanted to voice your opinion, you could start your own thread. What's the problem?

Please -- everyone -- keep the thread on-topic. We are discussing a photograph.

Actually, with all due respect, it appears the OP is about the gun rather than the photo.
edit to add initial sentence of OP: "Just for all those that don't hate handguns, here's my xd 9 4" model."

How do you like the XD. I was looking at buying one chambered in .45 about 2 months ago. Everybody I talked with that had one loved it. I ened up trading my Glock to my brother for one of his .45's.

cryan...I love it. My buddy who's a cop told me to buy it.
I've heard some people say stuff like the XD is what the glock could have been if they wouldn't have stopped where they did.
I mean disasembly is insanely easy. unload, lock the slide back, flip slide lever, move slide forward, pull the trigger, and you're done.
I know lefties like it too because the magazine release is on the left and the right. It's also got three safeties, the trigger safety (like the glock), a grip safety, and the striker safety.

That's a description of the photo, and the subsequent sentence clarifies any possible ambiguity.
In any event, in this thread I believe it is appropriate to post comments on the photo or technical questions about the firearm; it is not appropriate to post comments either for or against the presence of guns in society, or any other related political discussion.
Is that clear enough? |

Well, you can read the thread for yourself - OP posts' included, as to the intent/direction of this thread. It's about guns, not a critique of the image. |

Wow...some beautiful gun shots. Perhaps we should have a challenge.
"Guns"
People could take a photo of their pistols, revolvers or rifles or they could take a photo that was anti-gun. It'd make an interesting challenge.
That said, I think we've all seen the bullet thru the apple. But has anyone ever taken a shot looking down toward the end of the barrel as a bullet departed? that'd be an interesting shot... |
