One thing is for sure, I will guess that it's somewhat of a manual process to unwind and cancell all the transactions - it's going to keep them quite busy on Monday

I guess that I'm late to the dance...the link now says that the item is no longer available. Either they found the error, or all of you cleaned them out.

Whether or not they actually get shipped (I ordered 1), there's always Transcend 1GB for $20, Transcend 2GB for $40, Transcend 4GB for $79 and Transcend 8GB for $159 at Newegg.

It appears that you will get a 256meg XD card if they don't cancel the order.

Sounds like a big scam scam scam scam. I'm going to leave my AMEX order open so I can fight them if they send me the wrong item (instead of just cancelling) but if these guys scam me, I'll make sure that people know about it.

Found this deal on SD.

It was posted last night when the PageComputers website said "limited quantity - only 5 left". It was clear that they didn't have real-time inventory and, additionally, was assumed to be a price mistake.

As of this morning, the page has removed the "limited quantity" info and is listing the item as being in stock.

Their reseller ratings aren't stellar, but they aren't completley in the toilet either.

Beyond that, all I know is that an 8gb CF card for about $30 plus shipping is pretty hot. You decide if you want to order from this company or not. I charged to my AMEX so I'll be getting my money back if they try and screw me.

If it's a pricing error, why haven't they fixed it? Today the price is a dollar less than it was the other day $26.78/card.

The e-mail confirmation I got shows the actual mfgr part number of the 8 gig SD card so im not worried about them sending me the wrong card. Havent had mine cancelled yet but im sure its coming.

My sister works for a web based company that's on Amazon and she says if they misadvertised the price, they still have to honor it, or you can complain to Amazon. If they get enough complaints they get booted off Amazon.

When you view your order page does it show up as "On Hold"? I haven't gotten an email yet but that's what it says on my order. When I click on it I get the message "manual verification of credit card".

Mine says cancelled. When I hover over the word CANCELLED, it says:

If the customer did not cancel the order then one of these apply:
- item is on backorder without a guaranteed date for inventory replenishment.
- unable to verify credit card or information
- Manufacturer dicsontinued the item

The top statement can probably get them out of any trouble they got themselves into. Think about it, if you were going to lose $30,000 on the sales from this weekend alone, then just stop carrying the product.

In the email I got, it also says:
Dear Anthony Thornton,
Thank you for placing your order with Page Computer.

Unfortunately, the product you requested CF8GB-133-380, 8GB 133X CF FLASH MEMORY CARD PRO SERIES HS WA ENB is currently unavailable.

We try our best to fulfill your order as we appreciate your business, and your business makes our business successful.
We feel it is in your best interest that we cancel your order, so that you have ample time to source the product from
another supplier. We do not benefit from turning your business away and apologize for any inconvenience. Unfortunately,
we do not accept backorders because the manufacturers provide us with unreliable ETA's (estimated time of arrival) for
their products. We would not be providing the best service to our customers by holding an order and not knowing when it

No cancel e-mail for me yet either. Its crazy that they show in stock again with an even lower price......ya think someone is going to lose their job over this one ? :)

Hmm, that's strange that they would not list a pricing error as a reason for cancellation especially since their TOS seems to allow them to do that. Maybe the ones getting canceled are because they simply ran out of the product? Has anybody that ordered early gotten a cancellation status?

It seems like they tried their best to lie about the situation. I would be more inclined to buy something from them in the future if they only told me the truth. Geez. Can't they just say we screwed up with the pricing and that product with that price is not available?
