Hi all,

I joined a photographic society and I will be entering the next club competition they have. Deadline Oct 19th. The topic is 'by the waters edge' - the main focus must be the interaction of the land and water.

The photo can be taken at any time, as long as it has not been entered into a club competition before.

At the same time you can also enter a 'free study', so in affect there are two competitions at once.

Here are the two entries I want to submit. Can you all please give me as much feedback as you can so I have a chance to improve before submission.

1: By the waters edge:

What do you think? Also the title sucks, so suggestions welcome.

2: Free Study:
image here - contains back nudity
This is an out take of the session I did for my free study VII entry again feedback and title suggestions are very welcome.

thanks for looking, and I look forward to any and all comments - good or bad!

Cheers,

Iain

The water's edge one has potential. A little more detail in the rocks I think would give it some punch.

Thanks for your comments. I'll re-vist and re-post later.

There wasn't a big response from the night-time crowd. Has the day-time crowd got anything for me?

Cheers in advance.

I agree with the comments that annasense left on both of your images. I would suggest you take a look at the B&W tutorial by fotomann foreverand try a couple of different PP methods to see how many moods you can create for the water image. That image has a lot going for it and it would be interesting to see what different contrasting does for the mood.

Thanks to all for your comments. I had a quick chance to bring the rocks out in this one, but I need to take more time I think. What do you think?

I;ll re-vist the other all together. There were several of this pose, and I think I have an off camera shot. Will post the result later. Thanks again for you help, I really appreciate it.
