We finally got the new baby home and grandma and grandpa came by to visit. Gramps asked me to take his picture holding the baby, so in true DPC form I moved to find the best lighting and composition. When I was about to press the shudder he asked me to move 180* from where I was and take the picture from a higer angle to show the baby better. So I guess he wanted a picture of the baby being held by him rather than a picture of him holding the baby, anyhow this got me to thinking sometimes we get overwhelmed by the technical aspects of photography and forget that what we are trying to achieve is to show the viewer what they want to see. I think this applies in all aspects of photography be it weddings, nature photograpy, or DPC.
In this case what the viewer wanted to see was accomplished in something as simple as changing the angle of the shot. There was no amount of money that I could have spent on equipment that would have made that change for me. Only I could change the perspective. Anyhow enough rambling from me I have to go change ANOTHER diaper.
