Submitted more as a joke than anything, but my Image Without a Subject entry was pretty abstract for a macro... I mean, who would have guessed that it was a picture of DPC taken from my monitor?!?!?

WARNING to all: Don't go there!
(just look at my score! although I *did* get one favorite out of it! LOL)

Can we have a new rule where the same challenge can't be repeated more than once a year? We just did this one barely 6 months ago.

The other abstract was an Open Challenge with basic editing rules. This is the first Member's Challenge with advanced rules. Enjoy!

Well, I had an idea, bought the prop, shot it and during post processing got a ribbon winning idea. All I need to do now is turn my ribbon winning idea into a 5.6 :)

Don't abstract challenges historically score very low?

yes... they do... check the abstract food results and you see how much they're not appreciated. (Or check out my own personal entry.)

as abstract as they come... 4.96 score. yippee.

My two entries for abstract challenges:
My entry in the first Abstract Macro challenge. It was quite abstract but not very macro, but still was a 5.9 and was on my front page for a couple of months.
My entry for Abstract Food, ended up at 5.4 although I thought it hoped it would do much better. I think some people actually thought it was coral and not food(taco shells).
Funny enough I used the exact ssame lighting technique on both entries.
I wish we wouldn't have the same challenge so close together, but maybe this time all put it all together and hope for the best, just starting to think of ideas.

I wasn't that much better than you (5.2) but got a lot less comments. In fact I only got 1 comment, which seem to like it very much (scored it a 7).

I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts,I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts, I hate abstracts! I don't think in abstract. I can't compose abstracts. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh! If not for Team 20D being in WPL playoffs I would just skip it. Hell, once I've finished the team may wish I'd skipped it. Ughhhhhh!

I think I can do better with the abstract this time around. I learned a few things in the food abstract challenge. Well at least it felt like I learned something. We'll start finding out on Sunday or Monday for most.

Not really an abstract but one of my recent macro shots which I took last weekend.

If you hate abstracts how do you know you got a good one entered? I mean if YOU like it then it can't be an abstract, right? :P

BTW, I'm in and I like abstracts so that means it's doomed to fail like the first one!
