The search feature doesn't seem to be working, it must be on holiday or something...
I remember once a list of shots for a wedding was posted. One that the family could select the shots they wanted. If someone could point me at it, that'd help me immensely. Thanks in advance! |

I am bumping this so I don;t have to start a new thread and the first reply makes no sense. Anyone have that thread or the link with the list. I got 2 weddings and no list.

I don't follow a list - i give a 'suggested shot list' the bride at our initial meeting, just to get her thinking and with it comes a request for her to find a family wrangler to find grandma, etc for the pics. I also tell them (it's on the list) that each pic takes 3-5 minutes and it's unlikely that all pics will be taken, etc., so they should prioritize.
I tell them to make a list if they want -they sometimes do, but i ignore it. Sounds harsh, but c'mon - b&g with parents, granparents, his and hers and all of them, her with hers and him with his, perhaps everyone or a brother sister too. Kick the parents loose to go babysit at the reception.
DO the whole bridal party, then do the bride and maides, then the men with the bride and groom and bride (keeping the bride still means less dress arranging). Do the 'big formal bridal shot' poses, Then kick the bridal party out so just the b&g are left - this is when you get the best pictures - thy've been married 30 minutes, first time they've been able to talk all day, the only time they'll be alone till midnight - they'll appreciate it and you get the best pics! Pose a few and then stand back and use a 70-200 2.8 and let it happen. Tender touching, kissing, carresses...
BTW, I got my shotlist off some bridal page i got googling.

and my contract says something to the effect that weddings are fluid and dynamic and unplanned events, and some things are beyond my control so I am not liable for missed shots.
I read over the list i get from them, i just dont' carry it around checking things off (I have an assistant they do that, but no assistant, then no time to do it)
Also keep in mind that you may get a bride that will list every single shot and hold you responsible for missed ones -"I gave you a list and you missed #s 3, 37, 145, 372..." I've heard of it happening in real life, and have heard of lawsuits over it.
My list is given more as a warning on time - I have a wedding next june - 30 (yes thirty) people in the bridal party and they want church shots with the party and family, and drive to a scenic overlook of the city for more bridal party shots- I told the bride to give at least 90 minutes for this or there will be no guarantees - hell, how many cars does it take to move 30 people?? LOL If she were to give me a list - i can't imagine trying to get each permuation of friend, brother, cousin, etc that might result.
I always ask, more than once even, "Is there anything else you want? Are you sure we got everything and everybody the way you wanted? So we're done here then?"
