Well both are great Eric. I really like the latest shot thoug. "City On The Hill" It shows the intersection where Garson Deck is.

IMO your photo should be the one we use because you worked to get that contact.

Can you show us that one in B & W?

Anyone else want to offer a photo from Garson Deck?

What size should we purchase for her?

I think we should get it through DPC Prints cause we can order it framed and have it shipped directly to her.

Well, I'll go out on a limb and say that I LOVE all of Eric's night shots of the city. ;-) and both of those are very cool photos and would both work. I think that shot in color is quite nice, would be curious to see it in B&W.

And just to add my 2cents, while getting it framed is a wonderful idea, I wouldn't do it through DPC, only because I think it would look best if it were matted. That's just my personal taste though. I think all photos should be matted if they are to be framed. I guess I'm picky like that. :-)

I'll be happy to chip in a little to help out. I can also matte it, altough I'm sure Eric probably knows how to do this as well and would most likely prefer to do his own work since it is his photo and all. ;-)

Edit: Oh yeah, I only took about 3 shots from that location this time around and they aren't worth printing. :-)

Here is the BW:

Also, I do my own matting and framing, so if we do it this way, cost will be significantly lower. The mat will be about $4, and the frame will depend on size.

Wow, I'm torn. The color one seems really good too. But I'll leave it to your judgement because you've seen it printed to size. It's so hard to tell from these little web versions. They are both very cool. What do you think would be a good size to print it at?

I added a few more photos to my GTG folder. Here are a couple, the rest are Here:

Both look nice, but the BW is better. We can do a 10x24 matted and framed for about $50. That will yeild a hanger that is 30x16. Do we think that this is good?

Eric I love the B&W. And that size is fine.

Eric if you don't mind framing and matting then that is fine. The total cost will be around $50?

So it is these 3 that we are debating sending to our contact as a gift?

I'll go with Eric's recommendation and say #1 since he's seen them printed out.

I can probably pitch in $10 or $15. Just let me know. :-)
09/21/2006 01:10:52 PM · #185
I'm happy to pitch in $10 (rex, you shouldn't have to pay $50), and I vote for #1.

edited to add a vote - I really like them all but prefer #1

I'll throw in ten bucks and a vote for #3.
09/21/2006 02:13:40 PM · #188
Edited my post above to reflect the votes and the money.

I looks like

Larry, Jenn, and Beryl are all pitching in $10 each

That makes $30 and my $25 puts us at $55 which is enough. I wanted to give Eric a little extra for his time and his photo. Is everyone ok with that? Do all have paypal accounts so we can paypal Eric the money?

I like #2, but I'm more of a color fan. If not #2, I like #1 the best. I can help put some money in too, but it seems like it's already taken care of. So I guess I'll just buy a couple beers the next time we're together. =0) I also plan on posting some of my pictures by the end of Sunday. I've just been really busy with other stuff. (I need a long vacation.)

Jen: I'm planning on getting back to your PM. It's just been a little crazy at work at such lately.

#2 gets my vote as well...but they are all great. And if you need some more cash count me in for $10...otherwise looks like I'll share with the beer next time.

Alright, my vote is for #1. Does that break the tie, or should we wait a bit longer?

Eric I sent $10 for now. My paypal account was lower than I thought. If and when everyone has donated and you need more let me know.

Can you find an address to send this to?

A 10-spot is headed your way via Paypal Eric. Thanks for taking on the project. :)

I can't believe I missed this! I live in Atlanta and have been wanting to shoot downtown at night for ages.

And Jen...Bringin the Heat is one of my favorite photographs and I was telling somebody about it at work not long ago!

Is there an Atlanta e-mail group or is watching the threads the best way to find out when the next one of these is?...thanks, Kim

Keep an eye on the threads. We are thinking of planning a fall shoot in North Georgia and I am sure there will be another night shoot in Atlanta soon. Cause I love them.

Hey Kim, Sorry we missed you this time around. It was one of the biggest ATL GTG's so far I think. Definitely hope you can make it to the next one, hopefully coming up shortly in the fall. Just watch the GTG threads.

Not sure how many more nightshoots I'll be going on, been to 3 already. Maybe if we can come up with some new places to shoot. Don't get me wrong, the shoots we've done have been fun and they are excellent spots, but you can only have so many photos of the same thing. :)

And thanks for the cool words on my baseball photo, I even impressed myself with that one! LOL!! :-)
