| i was wondering how i can go about opening raw files from my nikon d70 on photoshop cs... not cs2. i just started using raw and now i founf that cs is telling me that the files are not compatible or something. |

| Make sure you have the latest Photoshop CS RAW plugin and you're all set. Worse case scenario use the Adobe DNG converter to convert your NEF files into RAW format and open as usual in Photoshop. |

| ok... where do i get the cs raw plugin from? and what is dng converter? i forgot to mention im also on a new computer. i just bought a mac a few days ago and i have basically no idea how to run it. im familiar with photoshopt but not so much with plugins and such. |

| I'd like to know too as i have only CS and didn't think RAW was viewable in it. (I'm on a PC) |

THIS is the link to the latest version of ACR. should work for CS as well as CS2.

Camera RAW 3.5 works only in Photoshop CS2
The latest Camera RAW plugin for Photoshop CS is Camera RAW 2.4 downloadable HERE for Macs.
For the Nikon D200 you need Photoshop CS2 with Camera RAW 3.5 or use Adobe DNG converter. |

Thankls for the link but the latest update for Camera Raw for CS only doesn't recognize any Nikon Camera. Here are the cameras which it reads RAW from:
Canon
EOS 20D
PowerShot S70
PowerShot G6
EOS-1Ds Mark II
Konica Minolta
Maxxum 7D / Dynax 7D
DiMage A200
Unless I'm missing something. |

I think that's just the list of the new cameras added when version 2.4 was realeased. I know I opened RAW files from my D70 back when i was using CS. you could try more recent versions of ACR...I know I used 3.something on a friends computer who had CS1. I incorrectly assumed it'd be backwards compatible for the newest ones as well - my bad. thanks to Nick for rubbing my nose in my own incompetence ;)

hello!
could someone please please tell me how to open those raw files??
I have cs2 v.9.0 and I've got that newest plug-in you mentioned here, but I still can't open them!:(
edited: when I open them as "open as" I get this message:
could nt complete your request because the file-format module can not parse the file"
what's that??
I would really appreciate any help!
