You beat me to it Robert.
The converging/diverging lines lead the eye to or away from a subject.

Well regardless...my image DEFINITELY has leading lines, is sharp and appealing and the first vote I got was a 3.000....since then I have now risen to the dizzy heights of 4.7 from 8 votes.
So now....what was the challenge again?? Cause it certainly aint leading lines according to these voters.

After voting on the first 100 entries my average score is down on my usual. I'm not ordinarily a DNMC troll (honest I'm not!), but even trying to apply a fairly liberal interpretation of the challenge definition there seems to be a whole bunch of images that seem to be off topic to me. Am I the only one thinking this way? |

Dropped down to 6.21 early this morning and now back up. I really like this shot so I'm happy that it's doing well. Not bad considering the few flaws I couldn't get rid of in basic editing. |

You beat me to it Robert.
The converging/diverging lines lead the eye to or away from a subject. |
I've seen entries where there is NO subject from which the lines lead or from which the lines pull away.
If we don't see a main subject (to or from the line(s)), should we feel guilty for deducting a point or two?

Why does it have to lead you to a subject, can't it just lead you into and/or through a photo? Leading to a specific subject is much too narrow a defintion.

I really don't get the voting this time. This doesn't seem like such a confusing challenge description. After voting ends I'm going to put big red f**king arrows all over the picture following the three sets of line all pointing at the subject. I can only assume that is why the photo is sitting in the 4's. |
