I did a photo shoot today for an aspiring model. I accidentally formated the card and reshot a series or 2. I realized I did not download a set, and it was the best set of the series. Is there any recovery software that I can get to get those back?

There are many softwares that can recover cards, even formatted. A quick search on google showed me a lot of links, including some free ones (trials). I've used one a long time ago, but don't remember the name..maybe you should try the demos until you get what you need.

These only work because formatting doesnt delete data, it just clears the space. However, if you have overwritten the same segments of the card with subsequent photos, I think it will be impossible to recover the data :(

I tried 2 diffrent programs and they are gone. What sucks, is the card has been reformatted about 8 times since my shoot last week, and it has recovered photos from that shoot.

They were probably photos from towards the end of the shoot, which haven't been written over by more recent shoots that perhaps did not have so many photos?
