OK ... I don't know the rules here...am I allowed to use a few published photos in a speech about how photography relates to communication or do I need permission from the photographers?

Anyway...if I need permission, does anyone have some photos they took of big events like 9/11, katrina, tsumamis, or other tragedies that I could use in this presentation? I'd be putting them on a projector so I guess any size would do really.

Published photos are quite fine to use in a college presentation. Personally, I'd give credit to the photographer in the presentation, but mostly it's not required.
