I got in at #61 earlier today. I really had not intended to enter. With packing, and working, and having a couple herniated discs from my Munising adventure in August, I have not really done a lot of shooting. Hiking has been totally out as my back wont tolerate it yet.
I was tired of not shooting, so I went out back and just started shooting things and ended up getting an entry for seed. I hope it does well as I really like it.

All I can say is if real seeds come up with dnmc, then I will wonder. I know for voting reasons, I am looking not just at creativity, but how the actual seed may have been presented. Is it boring, or has it got some interesting lighting, etc. I will probably have issues with voting on images out of the box. I expect to see seeds, now the question is how were they done? Can you imagine a creative image that takes sunflower seeds, puts them on lollipop sticks, and call it March of the Pop Seeds, or something like that. I dare anyone to do this in the next 3 hours before the challenge ends.

If I didnt have a ribbon winner already submitted I would give this a go - especially since my wife has a 2# bag of sunflower seeds at the ready and I just ate a couple of suckers.

Feeling pretty good about my entry too, so I'm excited to see how the scores turn out. It's going to be hard to go to bed tonight!

Well, almost 150 now.

I like my entry - so I figure it'll get a low 5 from the voters.

I like mine too.

This is another one of those challenges though where one can end up with image overload, too many of the same type of thing. Oh well.

I am actually expecting some nice and creative variety in this challenge. I hoep I am not dissappointed.

Unable to show a little restraint, I slapped together a piece of sh*t so the rest of your shots would look that much better in comparison.

Why do the seeds need to be "actual" seeds. The description said to use "fertilize" your mind. There are figurative seeds as well as literal (actual) seeds. Let's see what the photag does.

I'm having a very tough time choosing. On the one hand I have what I view is going to be a cliche photo, but with superior technicals and sharp enough to cut steel (and we all know DPC responds to sharp); on the other hand I have a shot with a bit of a "how'd he do that" effect, but the technicals are just not quite as well done.

Right now I have the second shot in. I think the first shot will have at least 3 or 4 others which will look just like it.

Well, I think the shot I didn't go with would have been a definite ribbon contender. :( After looking through the thumbs, there were no other shots like the one I had (while fearing there would be lots like it). Oh well, I like the one I have too, but it's 5.83 after 6 votes.

Same goes for me ... but I didn't enter anything. I didn't even bother post-processing it because I thought there would be so many others of the ilk...

oh, well.
