I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank this idiot. I was running late and the train station lot was filled up by the time I got there. There was only the spot next to this inconsideridiot left, which nobody else wanted.

You can see the Slippymobile has already gotten some parking lot injuries, pretty much on all four sides thanks to parkingidiots.

I figured I'd be decent to the car on the other side and park straight.

Personally, I'd have parked closer to him than you did. You can get out of your car (on the other side) just fine. He'd have to climb through his passenger side door to get in.

...What Nathan said. I encounter this type of driver on several occasions and I love to back my vehicle in inches away from the driver door, and wait and watch. It can be quite comical.

LOL! I actually considered doing that for a moment. But I didn't want to come back from a day's work and find my car keyed or with yet another ding, even though I had a photo with his license plate just in case. I don't think a cop would have much mercy if I'd parked right against his truck.

At any rate, I got back to the lot before he did anyway. :-)

My van is paid off as of two days ago. I'm going to drive the thing into dust if I can. *grin*

LOL, I drive a bus for a living. I see all sorts of creative parking.

This is probably my biggest pet peeve. If you can't park your car correctly then you shouldn't be allowed to drive!! I have a couple of suggestions for you. They are NOT nice nor constructive. They only serve to promote the self-satisfaction of telling the other guy off.

1. Leave a note on the car that reads: "I hope you don't f*ck like you park or you'll never get it in." edit: just read the linked forum. this idea has been posted.

2. Might take some research online but there's a picture of Mickey Mouse giving the finger with the caption, "Nice Job Parking, A**hole!" My dad used to have a stack of these he kept in the glovebox.

As for parking too closely. I tried that once in San Diego (at a very nice hotel I might add). Some jerk parked over the line so I parked as close as I could to force him into the passenger door. I came out the next morning to find the car keyed and the contents of whatever the people were drinking dumped all over the car. It was a rental and insurance paid for it all.

Face it. People like this are either stupid or lazy....and we will never be able to change it!!!

you do realize that if he hadn't parked like an idiot you would have had nowhere to park?

It's also possible he (she?) had to park that way due to the actions of another, earlier parker, who was now gone. The person who previously occupied your space may have been parked wackily, and this driver not been able to accomplish what you did.

You also don't mention what kind of parking lot this is -- in a shopping mall I'd be pretty PO'd that there weren't more bigger spaces, if it's outside a hospital ER I'd be tempted to cut the driver more slack ...

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I pretty much always have the same advice in these, or any, situations: Torch the car!

Note that, in the five minutes I have to spare to catch up on the forums goins on, the first link I decide to click on is titled "idiot" Hmmmmmm...

Rock on, Slippy. :)

You can pretty much park any way you want in Alberta since all the spots are big to accommodate everyone's monster truck. ;o)

Sounds like a perfect excuse to loosen all the lugnuts on said inconsiderate A**hole's wheels.

Well, say you loosened them enough that the wheel was no longer on the car. Then no one would get injured, and the parking-idiot would still get the picture (hopefully) ;-)

Hmmmm. Good point. Maybe better to just remove the lugnuts altogether and the wheels too. Leave the car sitting on the brakes without wheels and toss the lugnuts in the garbage.

Idiots don't know better. The people I hate are those that drive the expensive cars and purposely take up two parking spots so that nobody can park near them. Those people are just asking for it. Is there a bumper sticker for that I can stick 100 times on those cars?

If they are truly a bad parker/driver Karma will catch up to them. No worries.

Yep, stranding someone at the train station with thousands of dollars worth of damage to the drive train really sounds like a "proportionate response" for your inconvence ... if they're truly illegally parked, then call the police and have them ticketed/towed/booted. If not, then just find another parking place and holster the six-gun ...

I truly have more things to do than chase bad drivers. . .

Oh, you meant that karma. :P
