I just made a stupid mistake. Usually I copy the pics from the camera, make a folder and paste them there. This time I used cut. Of course, while the pics were transfering to comp it blocked. Just snapped. I had to restart the machine. And of course I lost half of the photos. But where? I made a folder and there's no folder on my hard disk anymore!? I can understand that the pics are lost due to temporary memory where they were stored. But the entire folder!?
Is there a solution to this problem. Could I somehow get the data back? They were good photos :-(
Thanks

Should be no problem getting the data back. Image recovery software will work even if you format the card. Just don't do anything with the card until you recover the images.

I use this but I'm sure there's some freeware out there that will do the trick.

I posted a link to one free data recovery software program.

Here's my google keywords if you want to look for others.

"file recovery" + software + free

This is a good cautionary tale. I always, always use "copy" to the new file, and verify correct transfer before deleting from CF disk via format in camera... I never, NEVER use "move to" in transferring files.
