After the short stretch of mud slinging a couple of weeks ago I decided to quietly watch the threads to see if things were really as bad as some would have us believe. In the end, I've come to the conclusion that for the most part, people ARE very respectful and DO respect the tastes of others. There has been very little that could be considered distasteful and of those, the posters followed the 'rules' and posted as a link.
A recent thread, 'I finally did it', confirms what I always suspected and in fact stressed. No matter what people do to appease others, IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH!
Don't know the poster personally and in fact have had no real direct contact with them, so please don't consider this a personal attack. Just an observation.
However, thank you for your subtle attempt at trying to re-open a very dealt with issue. Acting on personal taste is commendable... telling the world about it isn't.
Perhaps it can be discussed again in full balance on the next pod cast would be better... ;)

| I agree things have calmed down as requested recently but I also do know 'the person in question' personally, well through yahoo messenger at least(which is more than i know any of the rest of you, even you OP ) and I feel her intentions are pure and she holds no real ill will. I am also sort of taken aback by her post but I do trust maybe it's a case of having a bad day or what not. she is a very nice women. I assure you all. |

| i have to agree that since the big firestorm happened a month or so ago, people have mellowed and made changes for the better... not so much drama, lots of photography talk, constructive criticism, etc. i was a little perterbed for awhile, but am happy with the way the site has been operating in the past few weeks. guess we all need a little shake-up every once in awhile. :) |

So true. I'm on here a lot less since the amusement factor has gone way down. Most of the truly funny jokesters are too scared to post anymore. Everyone is tip toeing around trying not to offend anyone. I can't remember when the last time Art/Ken posted. I log in check my scores, see if anything amusing is going on, nope, off I go looking for something to interest me elsewhere. |

My sentiments exactly, and one of the biggest reasons I became more active in my photography here; because I felt part of a community of friends :) |
