Everyone knows that landscapes aren't my specialty... so, how'd I do?

If you had a graduated nd filter the skies would be awesome too.

Left one. Bear's Landscape thread is full of a LOT of helpful info on landscapes, I learned a lot from it.

Yeah, I know. :-) I've never bought one, because I do mostly portrait stuff, but I must admit I had a blast PPing this :-)

BTW, the trees are all leaning to the Right. That's due to storm surge from Hurricane Katrina. :-)

I wouldn't have voted this too highly, maybe a 4. I think you boosted the colors way too much and they seem out of line with the lighting, which appears more grey and drab. The bold colors also don't match the solitude and quiet of the scene, so there is a lack of coherence, imo. I don't know if it was a windy day but I don't like the softness and lack of detail in the grasses, the most important part of the photo. Perhaps a faster shutter speed would have helped? Compositionally I think it's interesting and has potential, but to which you haven't tapped into. I think the image would have benefitted with the use of a fisheye.

Please don't take my criticisms personally, nothing meant by them but to give you honest feedback of my opinion...and that's all it is, my opinion.

None taken and thank you... I like good feedback that I can learn from.
