I bought some Avery Business Card stock from Staples, and can't figure out how to print out a business card properly, I tried getting the word template but they are coming out too small. I havn't used the actual paper yet, just testing on normal paper and holding it up to the light to measure it out.
Can anyone help?
I would love to just be able to print straight from Photoshop if possible.

make sure that you dont have your printer adding extra margins to the paper
that could be the problem |

it's all in the software. If you have Microsoft publisher its very easy to print business cards from their template. Just choose a business card templet delete everything in their layout, layout your card. If you look in the options on the side you will see an option for multiple this will print ten cards to any avery card stock. Hope this helps. |

Well I made sure to put fit to page, is that wrong? I'm such a newb with printers. I have been using a 20 year old B&W laser for the past 14 years and have no idea what's going on with my color inkjet (Canon iP4200)

That looked promising until I found out that I have 8 card pages and there is no template for Publisher. Only one for word, which is very confusing and unusable

What kind of business card stock do you have? The standard is 10 per page and you can find this type very cheeply at most business depot/staples type stores. If its only 8 per page then each card is larger than a standard business card.

Open Publisher....choose the business card option (top row on the right for me)....make your card....file>print preview....from there you can choose how many columns/rows you need by increasing/decreasing the spaces between the cards and the margins. Hope this helps. |

The problem is figuring out what the size of the spaces are.

I have Avery "Print to the Edge" Glossy Photo Quality Business Cards. There are 8 per page, each is standard size: 2" x 3.5"

That's why you try a test page first.
