Got some decent weather for 2 or 3 nights while in NY this past week. 1st time I shot in RAW and was wondering if I can get some critiques on these shots. I edited a couple of ways. I couldn't decide which way I liked better. Thx in advance.
Also, in some of the pics (left there intentionally so you can see) you can see some specks in the sky. They don't show in all the shots, just some. The lenses (front and rear), sensor, mirror, etc were all cleaned the day before, but I can't figure out what they are....any ideas? Yes, I can clone them out

My personal favorite, but the specks are VERY noticable
P.S. Comments will be returned.

I uploaded the shots again. They are here. There WERE some white specks in some of those shots, but I have since cloned them out. What puzzled me about them is that they weren't in all the shots.

Bump it up 1 time.

ETA: Does that link work properly?

You have some nice shots here. My only suggestion is for you to try and brighten them up a bit. I was just in NYC this past July for the first time and struggled finding the right exposure as well. Take a look at what I came up with.

I used contrast masking to help keep the highlights from blowing out (still have to fix a couple, like the one below) and used it to brighten up the surrounding foreground to help give the image a little more punch.

Let me know what you come up with!

Good Luck.

Thanks for the tips Josh. I'm still a noob at editing and use PSP, not Photoshop (I got it free;), so could you explain 'contrast masking'? I'll try brightening them up a bit and see what it looks like.

P.S. Where did you take the Brooklyn Bridge shot from?
P.P.S. The BB didn't have the cable lights lit when I went, which really pissed me off.
