I'm having trouble identifing "birch" grout for use in tile floor. Is birch a wood color or a grey "ish" color?

Any help or photo samples will help greatly.

Birch is usually associated with a White Wood Grainish color... perhaps a muddy white if you will. IF you google birch trees and look at some photos, it will give you a decent representation.

Thank you all. The birch samples helpped out greatly. We'll know for sure tomorrow but I think our floor guys put down the wrong grout on my floor.

I'll post a pic later but my grout looks gray on a tile of cream white/birch.

Thanks again and look for the shot later.

To all who replied and others:

Facts:

I'm building a home (post Katrina)

Bathroom tile grout put down was "silver/gray"

All tile put down in two bathrooms finished off with Silver/gray.

Grout should have been Birch.

Posted to forums to see if Birch and silver could be mistaken for each other.

From Pic...I see they can't be mistaken.

Called the builder.

Wrong grout was put down.
Warehouse gave subcontractor wrong color.
Warehouse manager in trouble.
Flooring company accepts full responsibility and will replace grout.

I'm happy as can be.

My wife STILL upset at an otherwise FLAWLESS home build....

...oh well...everyone can't be as calm as me!

Thanks for the help..

K

Are your tiles ceramic or stone? Taking grout out = pain... check for chipped tile when they're done/before they put new grout in.

Did they mess up the walls or only the floor tile? floor tiles are typically 1/4in apart, while wall tiles are closer together.

Good luck, and both of you stay calm :-)
