Would be nice if the members only challenge alternated weeks between basic and advanced editing.

I'm not seeing the benefit of this. There are already twice as many basic editing challenges to choose from than advanced.
The chances of an interesting topic being advanced editing is already low -- I just don't see the advantage in making it even less likely.

I would have to agree with David. If we were at least able to spot edit in basic editing I wouldn't have a problem with this.

The benefit is being able to enter two challenges in a week, neither of which puts emphasis on photoshop skills.
I am not crapping on people who like to go photoshop crazy, however not all people do so it would be nice if it alternated.
Rather than the way it is now where you pick one open challenge where the playing field is level, and then submit something into the members challenge where you know you will get your ass handed to you because you aren't as good at PP as others.

You can do a whole lot of PP in basic that can make the difference between a good shot and a great shot, too. Personally, I way prefer advanced, just because I can clone out annoying imperfections like sensor dust.

Don't assume that everyone who enters an advanced editing challenge goes PP crazy. The voters will always tell you if you've gone too far. |
