Since I've been asking for lots of new material to be added to the site FAQ (//www.dpchallenge.com/help_faq.php), I've volunteered to write it myself.

Here's your chance to ask questions that you think have been tricky to answer. I'm especially interested in little tidbits not immediately obvious to new folks, although there's still plenty I'm still learning after 3 months.

In your suggestions, feel free to cover just about every aspect of DPC. Examples I've only learned in the last couple of weeks:
- what do ALL of the icons mean?
- just what are the file size and screen size limits for non-challenge shots?
- How do you self-DQ?
- If you don't vote 20%, do your comments still show up?
- How do you jump to the end of a forum thread instead of the beginning?

I'll collect questions for a while. No particular deadline.

One request: PLEASE just post questions or thoughts related to questions. While I enjoy the occasional sideline, I'd like to keep this thread on focus so I don't have to slog to find good questions.

Thanks!

Here are a couple... I'll think on this more and see what else I come up with:

- Commenting etiquette (I know there is a tutorial for this, but might warrant a mention or a link in an faq)

- Common terms and abbreviations, i.e. what does "bump" mean or others for photo newbies like "OOF", "DOF", "WTF", etc...

Thanks for mentioning MK's excellent FAQ, Rex. I'll definitely link to that. Maybe we'll even get it moved into the site FAQ so people can find it even if they don't run into someone who knows about it.

MK has some of the best FAQ answers I've ever read on any site. :)

Suggestion: Why not add to hers I am sure she wouldn't mind doing it. Then we all can have one central place to send everyone.

Right now we have one that's visible to everyone.

MK's is a bonus set that's visible to no one unless they check MK's profile or someone posts a link to it that they see somewhere.

I'd rather expand the first one.

Don't worry, I'm going to contact MK and see whether she's cool with absorbing her entire FAQ into the one on the site. On the other hand, and it's not up to me, I don't know what the SC and admins will want to use. Presumably they know about her FAQ and haven't yet absorbed it, but maybe it's just a matter of finding time. That brings me back to why I volunteered.

On a tidying note, I should've mentioned that I offered my services to the SC first and was given the green light.
