| I'm new to the dSLR world, so I have one basic question. Are "digital" filters different from the filters for 35mm film? I have a lot of older SLR equipment, with a wide variety of filters. Just wondering if the older ones are compatible with the new technology. Thanks for any help or guidance. |

For me, digital filters are what you put in photoshop...
Do you mean filters with "digital" lens coatings? If so, they have extra UV and other coats to help compensate for chroma abberation and ghosting.

yup, little has changed on the filter front... all your filters will work.
One exception is if you have a linear polarizer... autofocus systems don't like them...

I still use all my cokin 'P' series filters - wouldn't be able to enter a challenge without em ;-)
