Free Studies are so much fun. You are happily voting along and then every 50 or 70 entries you have one come up and all you can say is, "holy crap!". That's such a great feeling...

Just try and remember that when you see mine Doc.

I suspect that mine might get that same sentiment expressed, but without the "holy" part....

I can envision seeing the doc say "holy crap" every time he looks at his LCD screen. :P

I'm going to shoot my best of the month tomorrow. :(
Can we have an Free Study XIII immediatly after this one? :)

Still thinking about submitting something. I shot about 1000 pics in August (nothing holiday), but none make me go "yeah!". Boring stuff, depressing weather shows in the pics. :(

uhm

no!

light therapy. UV and stuff. for winter-depressions. I've been thinking about trying it, cause short and grey and rainy days make me sad. for real.

Well, entered my first free study and will be interested to see how it goes as, true to form, it is not a "normal" DPC image.

On the whole SAD thing, there is now a bunch of theory about SAD in summer and not just winter. A significant number of people in the UK (and elsewhere) find summer very depressing and disastrous for their mental health. While some folk may find this hard to believe I have to admit that I have enough first-hand evidence to know that this is a real condition.

Personally, I get enough "SAD" when the voting on one of my images starts - then it becomes VAD: Voting Affected Disorder!

And VAD is BAD... :-)

Highlight of the day: played with a demo model of the Nikon D80 for about 40 minutes, along with a Canon 30D. It was an interesting time for sure...

Forgot to say that weather does not depress me as I enjoy all weathers, even dull and grey.

Not sure what that says about me but...

I'm always happy when it rains. :P

I am sorry to use these words again (after the remark about wearing shorts in Muenster): You are English.
Englishmen are used to five weeks of rain (of which two weeks holiday).
I'd be surprised if you were depressed by such conditions. :)

I can enjoy rain. really!

but when the days get shorter, i need light..

Chuckle. Personally I think your problems in Holland start because you have no hills and vales: it is a very flat country and therefore only comes alive with good quality of light. Ergo, the need for light. (Just kidding, honest).

As to the English obsession with the rain and weather - absolutely, dear boy! A man who cannot talk endlessly about the weather is clearly not British and probably puts lemon in his tea instead of milk!

Is this becoming a free weather rant rather than a free study discussion, I wonder?
