The barn is at the in-between focus level that I find disturbing. There is enough detail to really make the viewer notice how out of focus it is. This is a pit-fall of digital. If you could reshoot this at a fast f/stop, like F2 or F2.8, I think it may render the barn a little more subtlely, and improve the image. You could also try for F11 or whatever the smallest aperature is on your camera, and see if you can get in it focus. As rendered, I think it is in the 5/6 range, but it could easily make it into the 7/8 range with a little post processing. It is also possible to blur the background with a good program, such as Photoshop.
I am still working with my Mavica, I am not sure if I can change the aperture willingly. Also, this was taken with my polarizing filter on (still a novice as to when to use it and when not to). Thanks for the technical advice, this is what I am working on...
