For the last couple of months I've been doing a lot of traveling shooting our ASA softball team. Been around dusty ball fields. Didn't relize how bad my sensor was getting. Did some landscap shots and it jumped right out at me. My first time using the Copper Hill method....It works well!

idiot; spelling error

Hey Joe, I just happened to be cleaning my sensor when I spotted your post. :D

Mine had about a dozen small dust specs. They're all gone now, but I also have a few large smears that look like fingerprints. I'm going to clean my lens and try again.

BTW, did you run auto-levels on the images? It shows up the dust much better. I shoot a blank scene with the lens set at max aperture and focused on infinity, then run auto-levels on the photo. It really shows up the dust.

I don't even check before and after anymore. I just use a piece of scotch tape and put it back together and put it away. Being that it takes about 4 seconds and works 100% of the time with 100% accuracy, there is no need to check anymore...I just KNOW it's clean.

Hey Mick...Thanks..I shot at f22, focus to infinity. I new I had a couple small ones left in the corners. Did the auto levels, looks like I have a few more small ones, I'm going to do the same and clean my lens to see if thats where its coming from....Nice trick...Thanks.

this is just plain scary. Had my 20D just about a year, never cleaned the sensor.

I used your scotch tape first, got the big one out. Kinda scary with the tape sticking to the sensor. I'm going to stick with Copper Hill. (no pun intended)..lol

I'm just amazed that you don't end up with sticky glue gunk all over your sensor. The specks of dust that I get on my sensor are so small I can't even see them with a magnifying glass.

But heck, if it works... :D

Scotch Tape is bad: Scotch Magic Tape is good; leaves no residue. I assume that's what he's using...
