I've done it once. I know I can do it again.

My daughter is 11 going on 21. She will actually be 12 in less than 2 months, and boy can I tell. We have been battling all week long. Good thing school starts next week.

My older daughter is now 24 (13 years between the two) and so it's been awhile since I've had to deal with it :) On the plus side, my oldest will tell me just about anything and we are best friends so I must have done something right the first time through.

I will survive. (I just hope my daughter does...)

ALL my sympathies. All of them! Every last sympathetic feeling I have.

My daughters are 25 (Jesuispeure) and 10. I went through this with my oldest. Her head would spin and she'd say awful things. Everyone else's mom walked on water, which she pointed out often. Nothing that came out of my mouth was worthy of acknowledgment. Today she's wonderful. We have our business together and only occasionally does she react like her stupid mother. I can live with that -- I'm sure I do it with my mom too.

This gives me hope for the 10 year old cuz if that girl rolls her eyes are me one more time I swear I'll........

Judi, I have two daughters - 15 and 12, so obviously I can totally relate to your woes.

Feel free to pm me to cry on my shoulder if you should feel the need. Who knows, I might even have a bright idea every once in a while.

Debi, thanks for assuring me that I am not the only waste of space and oxygen in the mother department.

It actually is a bit better this time around than it was with my first daughter (Katrina). Daughter #2 (Kimberly) has a grown up big sister who can do no wrong :) Katrina is a wonderful example for Kimberly. I have an older sister and we are very close, so I'm hoping it will end up the same with my two.

I think part of Kimberly's problem is that she is in a house FULL of adults....me and her dad, her sister, my mother-in-law, and currently her uncle (hubby's bro). Add her age to the fact that everyone tells her what to do and I think I'd probably react the same way :)

Nice to know we're all normal (relatively speaking.)

Good luck. I am in the same boat. My little girl is 11 (12 in January)
With two older brothers in college. She is also a full time gymnast, and mature beyond her years....I fell your joy/pain.
