Hi All,

Do we have any relationship with the number of pixels and the printout size? I know there is.

how can I have large printout without grains or loosing photograph quality?

H (pixels) / 150dpi = min. quality
W (pixels) / 150dpi = min. quality

H (pixels) / 300dpi = high quality
W (pixels) / 300dpi = high quality

example 20D:
3504 x 2336 would give you a 24"x16" min quality picture (150 dpi)
3504 x 2336 would give you a 12"x8" high quality picture (300 dpi)

you can enlarge the picture in steps of 5% to get a larger print and stop before pixilation.

By resizing in PS. Goto Image and resize the picture by 5%. I use bi-cubic. But do it on your large image, before resizing for web.

Genuine Fractals

There is NO WAY to get details back if you have lost them (or never had them). Both Genuine Fractals and the 5% step method will enlarge images without introducing new artifacts but neither will recreate the sharp details that characterize what it considered to be a good image on either stock sites or DPC.

I have made very nice 11x14 prints of images from my first digital camera (under 1 megapixel) but these images look SOFT, just right for the current challenge. Fortunately, the soft look is appropriate for these images. I can't make 11x14 prints of images from this camera that are not appropriate for the soft look.
