Hi all! It's getting close to the walk (October 6-8) and I'm getting a bit nervous regarding my fundraising and the walking, to be quite honest. I just thought I would try to get the word out again. If anyone has been affected by Breast Cancer, or any form of Cancer, please help out by sponsering me in this walk. Just a dollar would help! All of the money raised will go to the Susan G Koman fund(85%) and the National Philanthropic Trust(15%). I hope that the research that is being done for Breast Cancer can also benefit the research of other types of Cancer. Thanks so much for checking this out!

sent you a small amount....I also am walking in the Making Strides walk in my area (only 5 mi though...) My Aunt had Breast Cancer a yr ago which was all successfully removed by surgery. She planned on walking in this yrs walk and 1 mth ago they found a tumor on her ovaries. That was benign (sp?), thankfully. But she has not recovered enough to walk. Therefore I am walking 'for' her.

Enjoy your long long walk!!

Good Luck with your walk ... my Mom and I did the Michigan 3 Day back in August ... harder than we thought it would be ... couldn't beleive how many women were injured and still walking ... take your time and don't feel bad about taking a "sweep van" ... another friendly word of advice ... take your shower BEFORE eating dinner or you'll wait an hour or 2 to get one!

Thanks Pam for your extra advice. This is actually my second 3 day walk, but I know I'm not as prepared as I was last year. I also twisted or may have even broken some small bones in my ankle this past June at our Relay for Life. I was taking pictures and accidently stepped into a big hole in the grass. It feels OK most of the time, but sometimes it feels stiff and cramps a bit. I have a feeling I may get 'swept up', but I will try not to. Last year I walked most of day 1 and all of day 2 with shin splints on my left leg.
(which I never had problems with during training) Thanks goodness for ice, and the 3rd day was only 14 miles

Hi! Thanks for asking! The walk was great! There were a few unpleasent things like walking in the cold and rain and waiting for a bus for a total of 3 hours. Other than that, it was a good weekend. We saw a lot of Philadephia.

One of the best things was seeing all the people who cheered and encouraged us along the way. The crew and volunteered were great too! They could always put a smile on your face.

I had no blisters or injury requiring me to go to the medical tent. Just really, really sore feet. It was worth it because the total raised was about 6.6 million and growing!

I still have a ways to go with my fundraising, but I'm pretty sure I can do it. One thing I will probably do is raffle some Vera Bradley Hope Toile bags. Those who donate (or have donated) will get one ticket in the drawing and 1 additional ticket for every $10 donated. I will make an official post once I figure out which bags I will use. Please check back if you are interested or send me a PM.

I will try to post some pictures soon! Thanks for your interest!

I just posted some pictures from the walk. They were taken with the cheapest Kodak camera available(which I didn't lose!), so some pictures aren't the greatest. I didn't edit them yet. I'll probably do that when I'm ready to put them in an album. It was also hard because the camera is slow to turn on and slow to take the picture. Most times about 20 or more people wanted the same picture or the moment was gone by the time the camera was ready.

I also have about $150 left to raise. If anyone would still like to donate, any size donation will help me get my required $2,200. Thanks!
