| Just Started to vote on the fauna challenge, but got to thinking do you judge on the subject, does it pertain to the challenge at hand, and then look at the over all quality of the picture, and take that into account of your score to? Or just score on the subject matter and cruitique the picture, to the person on how the picture could be better for help only, not to effect you scoring, in otherwords, does subject matter and picture quality all matter in the scoring? |

When voting it's fine to do whatever you feel that you want to do, but normally people base their score on Technical Quality, Image Quality, Subject/Meeting the Challenge.
It's certainly a good idea to keep in mind what the challenge was when casting your votes, but remember that some people think 'Out of the Box' and strech the challenge, in which case its sometimes hard to see the link, but normally it is there somewhere.

Both the "photography" and "challenge" portions are important here, and your voting should reflect both of them. Voters are asked to consider whether the image is connected to the challenge as well as the quality and appeal of the image. Keep in mind, though, that many photographers take the challenges in unexpected directions, so some photographs may be connected to the challenge in ways you may not expect. Welcome, and enjoy!
