I have got to quit shooting for both open challenges and then deciding which to enter. I kick myself the rest of the week.

I'm sure I'm screwing up this week. I like both options too much.

Oh, for a ghost account!

I don't shoot for ANY challenge - just keep the camera near me most of the time and take lots of photos. If they can be shoehorned into a challenge then I'll enter, if not then I'll just enjoy looking at them. Much less stress that way.

Timbo has the right of it. I haven't entered many challenges compared to most, but of the ones I have entered my poorest scores have come from images I shot specifically for the theme. The shots that fared decently were just things I had taken while shooting every day.

yep, my top 4 images were all shot just for the fun of producing a nice photo. I try not to draw too long a bow when putting a photo in a challenge, prefer not to get DNMC comments

Although my strategy means that I haven't entered a challenge for close to 2 months which is sort of a bummer. But I've got 2 photos in at the moment - one in the free study and one in the where in the world challenge (which is almost a free study....)

I decide which one I want to go for before hand (if either) and then shoot for that (or keep it in mind through the week).

I have entered one challenge so far and it's one of the worst shots I've taken with my new camera.

It's also doing better than I expected.

I'm just enjoying seeing a lot of great shots and the accompanying interaction.

I have many shots that'd work in the various challenges, but there's that time thing.....8>)

I wait until 11pm (server time) and see which one has the fewest entries. Then, I come up with an idea, shoot it, edit it and submit.

:)

Yes, I 'm joking, but looking at my last 5 or 6 scores, you wouldn't know it. :/
