Sure, or any other creative place that someone might hide or get lost. Could be a landscape, could be under the kitchen sink. Be creative ;) |

Yeah, I'm not even attempting this because I just don't get it. I thought I could just take a picture at first and then stick steve in a crowd or under a rock or something, then they "clarified" (i.e. - screwed up) the challenge description. No offence guys, but you took all the fun out of it.

So unlike "Where's Waldo", we aren't supposed to have Steve in the picture? So we can just submit any landscape? Landscape challenge!

Hey, if that's waht the voters take it for okay. I was just expecting something more comical when I first saw the challenge title.

Of course, since you can add pixels, it gives you soooo many more options in landscape processing. hmm.....

my thoughts are the implication of steve would be ok. but yea, basically it's another Free Study with a cute title.

Is there an official SC consensus yet on the "Steve Brush"? |

I'm the same - I just didn't understand what the challenge was so I haven't considered entering. If it's really just a landscape challenge them I would have shot for it at the weekend but it's too late now. |

Right now I am in, hopefully voters with all the confusion about whats going on don't make there own assumptions on what to do. As of right now I am shooting for a top 40 entry :).

I think it will be quite sad if anything with a Steve Brush gets DQed for that reason alone, when a site owner (who I'm guessing outranks SC) said a brush of any shape was allowed. People are made out of shapes, I'd say.
I just realized I capatalized "brush". Steve has a new last name now apparently :-) |

I'm kind of surprised at the number of people who want to paint an entry rather than photograph one. I may have to rescind my vote for more lenient editing rules. |

I don't think that's really what's happening; it's just that for THIS particular "fun challenge" a lot of people got the idea that it would be cool to be able to stick some "Steves" in the image, you know? I don't think it's a general trend, and I don't think anybody would want to see this ruled as acceptable all the time...

I think a lot of people would have fun taking advantage of the more relaxed rules. But I understand the point behind what you're saying. I don't know what the entries will look like but I am hoping that people who "add pixels" aren't using that to form the majority of the shot, but adding in order to enhance their photo. |

Agreed whole heartedly. I dont think anyone really wants to paint there whole picture, but the freedom to place a person or face into a photograph using a tool for this one challenge is fun. Do it badly and the voters will let you know. Do it well and hopefully they will do the same. I actually had hoped everyone would do something to stick at least a part of Steve in somehow. Unlike the negative challenge where you really got tired of looking at negative photos I dont think anyone will get tired of trying to find Steve. |

ummm. were we all supposed to fly to Steve's place?? :P All I wanted to do was add the dude in somewhere, which I have no chance to do otherwise.

In my challenge description, it doesn't mention a requirement that Steve actually be in the photo. Maybe yours is different? |

Print off a face and make a mask is one option? People find all kinds of creative ways to get around the rules in every other challenge. BTW SC is discussing it as we speak.

no, I think it just said "open editing" when it was posted. my idea had a pic of Steve strategically placed. I thought of printing it off after it was changed, but the idea didn't really work.
It's kind of like saying "I want a Pony!!" when you're a kid. The person in control can say "No" Which they have.
