For a series of pics, I would like to enter for instance location, camera type, lens etc. Now, I have to select each picture, make changes, go back to overview, click on next picture etc ... it takes a loooong time, especially from a slow connection.

Example: For now, I only have one camera, why do I have to select camera and lens for each and every shot? (Even though I chose that camera in my profile)

Thank you

I was to start a topic about this until I found this recent one.
Was going to say the same thing:

When I upload a lot of photos to one specific folder, I'd like to be able to edit selected fields in one batch. When all the shots have the same date, same location, same camera, same lens, same basic description, the same iso, the same site galleries and the same keywords I'd like to be able to edit those fields in one go. Not photo by photo.

Have you tried IrfanView? I think it will do what you want.

I think Adobe Bridge and Photo Mechanic may have something like this as well, but neither is free.

You misunderstand, I think. This is to be used on the computer, but on DPC! It is on DPC, where there is no EXIF data after the resize, that one has to enter it all automatically - quite tedious. So if I upload a series of 10 images, I have to enter the year 10 times, same with the month, location, camera type etc etc.

So a DPC batch edit function would be nice in that respect :-)

Well, wouldn't it just be easier to upload the EXIF info along with the photo? Somthing like here. It's been discussed, I just don't remember the outcome.

I think this issue has been put in the Website Suggestion box here at DPC. The EXIF data is automatically stripped from all uploaded images on this site if I remember correctly. For sure on challenge entries, not sure about portfolio images...

Pictures I take are larger than 640x - so I must resize before sending to DPC. EXIF is lost then.

Even the camera, I only have one camera, so why do I have to fill this out for every picture I upload? Maybe I am doing something wrong, please enlighten ...

Mmmmm, something that would make life somewhat easier:

When editing info for a picture, could there be a "Next", "previous" button - possible a "first" and "last" as well? Instead of having to go back to overview, then choose next picture.

Also, when uploading a series of pictures (in a ZIP file), they are sorted in a seemingly random way. An option of

Sort by name
Sort by date

would be nice. The current sort function is very time consuming, taking picture for picture and sorting them ...

Assuming Photoshop if you use Save As instead of Save for Web you won't lose the information.

No photoshop, but Picasa2 (for the moment).

So, if EXIC is intact in photo, it will be included on DPC?

I have just checked my Picasa exported pictures - they all retain EXIF data, so why is it not parsed to DPC when uploading? THAT would have saved me a lot of work ...
