It seems that the "Search" function does not search recent threads?

I posted a duplicate thread about Joe Rosenthal dying, after searching for "dies", "died" , and "Rosenthal" and finding nothing.

Of course, there was already such a thread, posted an hour and a half before mine. But because search didn't find it, I presumed it wasnt there. (I quickly scanned the recent threads too but didn't notice it if it was in the top 20 threads--I don't know if it was and I missed it or not).

SUGGESTION: The site is probably only searching threads AFTER an indexing step. Why not add a second phase of this, and then search RECENT threads, since indexing? It might save the site council some work.

EDIT: I just searched again, and see that some of the topics that come back are within 15 minutes, so it can't just be indexing. Still, I can't find the threads about Rosenthal from even earlier. Perhaps a bug? I am doing the search in the "All Forums" area after you click Community Forums. (And I am using Firefox if it matters.)

I find that the best way to search here is to use google with 'dpchallenge + whatever you are searching for;)

I don't think that would solve the delay problem. Google can't be everywhere all the time.

Hmmm... I just did a google search of dpchallenge and dwterry and it only found two entries. Strange. I would have expected far more.

according to langdon, it is an indexing issue. he said he'll see what he can do.
