315 entries, and they are all so good. Its only been 40 mins since this challenge opened, and yet I think I see a last place coming on. There are just so many fantastic photos. The quality is excellent.

I agree. I've only had an overall look at the thumbnails and a few closeups, but there are definitely a lot of great captures. Flora too. Great work everyone who submitted!

Is this post just for people-mav-knows or can I join in too?

:)

I like the pics so far - tho nobody seems to like anything I submit anymore!

Is it our fault you know every single person out there lol

I could blame you, if that's what you're asking.
04/23/2003 01:46:25 AM · #6
Lot of 10's and 9's :-)
04/23/2003 01:48:45 AM · #7
Yeah, lots of 10s and 9s except for mine. I can't seem to break a 5 these days. My Fauna pic, I feel, is the best one I've submitted so far. Oh well. I guess it's back to work with the Triptych, huh? Just wanna get above a 5.0...

HAHA

And how do you supposed you could possible blame me? Well you could say that I am so freaking boring that it made you want to meet new people. But I don't think thats what you would say lol Or maybe you have adopted my philosophy of blaming someone else. lol

Good night everyone, I have to catch the sunrise tomorrow I was waiting for many, many dark days!

wow a lot of these are great I think I've given 5 10's and 8 9's after voting on about 200 of them

I'm about 60 votes in and haven't seen a real eye-catcher yet (and no, it isn't a type of bird). you'll have to go some to get last though loz.

Mine is once again catching the eyes of lots of 2s and 3s because it's not technically 'perfect' - but a capture I love. *shrug* I give up on scores. My flora and fauna are two of the best pictures I think I've ever shot. Neither will hit 5. I guess my style is not that of dpc. I can live with that.

Can't comment or console, mavrick. Don't know which one is yours.

Well I have watched you the past two years grow as a photographer. I know that you do have a lot of skill. I guess the aim of dpc is not really to win a challenge (although that would be nice) its to make the most of what you have, and try and become as good as you potentially can be.

I know that I will never win anything. The highest rated photo with my make of camera is still low fives. Yes I am sure I sound like a broken record with that. I will still keep trying to do my best though, and I hope that one day I will be the highest photo for my camera, and just take the best photos I can.

And hey, your photo may be struggling to hit 5.0, but mine is barely keeping above 4.0. I know the image is not the most perfect one, but I do believe its better than that score. It was not even an easy image to get.

Am I misunderstanding something?
There are a couple photos that don't have any animals in them...
The ones I've seen so far are very nice, but to me they don't meet the challenge, or is there a wider interpretation I'm just not getting?

You have to keep the faith! Remember we are artists and someone will always not see the beauty we see with our own eyes! I only hope we all get comments that open our minds to other possibilities and thereby, making us better artists!

Don't worry, I am very open about it. I think the fact that a photo can get some 10's, as well as a few 1's shows that. You know out of the top 10 weather shots, I gave one of those photos a 2, and one of the ones in the bottom 10, I gave a 9 to. We all see it different, so as much as its cool to get a high score, i am not really worried.

You can either buy into and appreciate the photographers intention (if you can see it) or not. That's your decision and right as a voter.
