Has this been asked before? My camera is set to shoot RAW files only. Last night, nearly 50% of the shots I took turned out as jpegs. They weren't taken super rapidly but were about 15-30 seconds apart. Is this just too fast or something? I do not approve.

You didn't accidentally knock it only Auto did you MK?

That's totaly wierd... sure you didn't accidentally change modes or something?

Are you shooting raw+jpeg? If so, exactly 50% of the images will be jpeg. ;-)

Other than that, I have no idea. I have two 20D's and a 5D (which works almost the same) and it doesn't matter how fast I am shooting, I get nothing but raw files (.CR2) out of all three of them.

While shooting did you switch to one of the auto modes?

/edit: damn I'm slow!

the auto modes tend to take over everything -- don't know specifically for the 20D. But in general, RAW is for when you want to control everything -- setting it to one of the auto modes tells the camera you want the settings of the auto mode.

/edit: Still way too slow

Never even thought of that. Good to know. :)

Dang... I never knew that! Well, that just proves that I've never shot a single image in any of the auto modes of the 20D. (on the 5D they took away the auto modes and that's fine by me)

Ya made me look! I guess you're right. There are still the P and the Green Square modes.

I spend about 95% of my time in Av mode and the rest in M mode.
