Are they black for a reason? Seems an odd choice when normal links are underlined blue.

Took me quite some time to realize I could click on people's names to see more of their photos because they look like normal, unlinked text.

LOL. I'm a Web editor and communications trainer by trade, so what can I say? Usability be my name.

I figure it's up to us, the users, to suggest things that will make our experience better.

Then it's up to D&L to decide what they want to bother with. I'm well familiar with the tradeoffs of time and effort vs. actual increased value.

Or is it really L at this point? In my two months here, I've seen Langdon post a few times, and exchanged PMs with him a few more times, but not really seen evidence of Drew around.

I have met them both at the same time, I can vouch for them, they are two different individuals :P

I wasn't specific enough. While it's true that different sites often choose their own color schemes, consistency within one design is key.

On DPC, links are generally blue and underlined. With a couple of notable exceptions (e.g., usernames on photo pages and photo titles on voting pages), leaving people to discover accidentally that they're actually links.
