Just got the call that my D70s has been delivered and is on my kitchen table. I can hardly wait of course but it'll be another 6.5 hours before I get there from work... Oh man.

Just in time for the weekend too! Tomorrow is a big fireworks thing for Globalfest, tomorrow I'm hitting the fringe festival and Sunday is our corporate golf tourney! O man I'm gonna break that thing in fast!

Crap, still 6.5 hours to go...

Don't you feel a stomach ache coming on??
08/17/2006 12:49:48 PM · #3
I can imagine you are starting to feel quite nausiated and probably need to go home before the projectile vomitting starts.

Oh it's here baby. I think I'm breaking out in a cold sweat too. Sniffle as well. and the ache even!
08/17/2006 12:51:32 PM · #5
Silly person, you should have had it shipped to work.

Did you say the 'kitchen' table. Isn't that next to the sink with the faulty faucet that leaks and sprays everywhere?
08/17/2006 12:56:31 PM · #7
You sound a little feverish. Are you feeling OK?
08/17/2006 01:00:11 PM · #8
Yes. Better not be a leak near my baby. Yes and most definitely not.

I think I ate a bad egg this morning.

The last time something like this happened to a dpc'er, someone (mk perhaps) reminded the "ailing person" that bosses typically don't like (or look for proof of) explosive diarrhea.

:)

No they don't. I use that one often. I would heed Karmat's advice!

:-P

I had a coworker a few years back that got Giardia link.

Use that as an excuse, then you can pick up a few days to use the new toy.

Giardia:
* Diarrhea - Sure do, yup!
* Gas or flatulence - When don't I
* Greasy stools that tend to float - no comment
* Stomach cramps - Like I said, bad egg
* Upset stomach or nausea - Moooooaaan...

Good one!

Looks like it is time to go home. You really look like you feel crappy! Do you have a temp? Best just go home now before you get anyone else sick.

LMAO

Yeah, I don't spend enough time on here during the day as it is WITHOUT the camera!
Got some good reading to do tonite.

By not running home now, sick as I am, I can "be sick" for a couple days and make use of them instead of reading a manual. I should read it, right? I mean I am a guy after all so does that mean that necessity is waived?

I'm surprise you didn't upload a pdf file of the instruciton manual to read. Before my camera arrived I had read the manual, charged the batteries, and ready to shoot.

LOL. My bosses thank you!

Have someone at home charge the battery for you while you finish the workday (gotta pay for the toy you know) then you can use it as soon as you get there instead of waiting 2-3 infuriating hours for the little light on the charger to stop flashing.

Good call!

(Has fear he'll get home to a mangled battery...)

So I finally made it home. Yes, I stuck it out and it sucked...

Been reading, reading, reading. Tomorrow at lunch we'll have some fun and then fireworks tomorrow night.

I'm surprised no one has been bitching about the fact that Nikon doesn't actually include a RAW (er, NEF) converter/editor with the camera nd just gives you a trial of Capture. Is Project supposed to suffice?

I only have PS 7 and it won't read NEF nor is there an update for it. Seeing as I haven't got that far yet, anyone have any advice about shooting and being able to use the RAW (er, NEF) files?

Yeah, Nikon is cheap about that. You can use RawShooter, the free version is still available as far as I know. It's quite good.

BTW, welcome to "Club Nikon" (or whatever it's called).
