Do the two or three images have to be the same size/aspect ratio to be considered tri/diptych? Do they have to be arranged horizontally/vertically? In other words, can you have a tall one on one side, then two shorter ones stacked on the other?

I say any arrangement is fine.

I think as long as there are 3 images in the composite, it's a triptych. I dont plan on making mine uniform throughout.

Personally, I'd love to see some of the images fall into one of the "traditional" triptych ratios -- where the images on the sides are each half the width of the one in the middle.

(Traditional because the old religious triptychs folded -- and the sides would each fold over to cover half of the "main" image.)
