How about 10:30am at Liverpool St Station for the suggested city walk?

If everyone wants to shoot the Globe theatre and the surrounding area instead (per GTG 6, but in daylight), then we need a different starting point (the Globe is not much by itself). We could walk from, say, Tower Bridge or London Bridge to Temple in a couple of hours (maybe via Westminster), I would have thought. It took a long time to do that for the GTG6, but daylight plus a smaller group might make it a bit quicker.

10:30 sounds good to me.

The difficult question is, any ideas at what time we might be finishing as it is cheaper for me to book a specific time for return train than an open ended return.

So can we just post the time and meeting place in one reply, por favor? I'm reading a bunch of different places and times, and I want to make sure I meet everyone in the right place, and on time.
Thanks! See ya in a few days!

I think that Tom might be confused about the less official morning shoot. Can we add this in as an optional extra to the front page?

Given that no-one has expressed a huge preference for the morning shoot, I suggest that it be formalised as follows:

Pre-GTG

Location
Liverpool St Station - meet at the top of the escalators outside the Eastern entrance of Liverpool St Station (Bishopsgate side), where there are a few tables and a Starbucks concession.

Time
Meet at around 10:30, coffees to be finished for departure at 10:45.

Walk
Liverpool St Station, NatWest Tower, Lloyds Building, Gherkin, Bank of England, up Cheapside past the Guildhall, St Pauls & Paternoster Square, Old Bailey, Fleet St, towards Temple/Thai Restaurant. Arrive at restaurant for 12:45.

Weather
BBC reports light rain for Saturday!
//www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml

If it rains badly, then we may have to rethink part of the day. It would be a relatively easy walk/bus ride down to Borough Market, which is covered and would provide a fun hour of food photography!

Contact
Please let me know if you are coming to the morning bit, so we don't leave without you. I will PM people who ask my mobile number, so that they can find out where we are if they want to come and find us.

So far, I think the following people are coming to the morning bit:

edit: updated
me
p2JVR
riponlady
artan + mate
benhur

Anyone else?

I thought cats went to a cattery and willow to a woodyard, (or a cricket pitch)

See you all Saturday Morning playing on the escalators... I'll be the one being evicted for trying to run up the down side :)

So you see the problem! All the woodyards were full!

FYI Willow is 20 years old so she needs serious consideration!

Meet you going up the down escalator on Sat!

:)

[puzzled? - are you going to be able to get over here with your camera equipment?]

Anyone else?

I will not be joining the morning gathering now, not because I don't want to meet you guys but because the route laid down is one I travelled a couple of months ago. It is a great photo route for sure and one I highly recommend but I feel as though I need to explore a different area before the lunch get together, such as Covent Garden or down on the Embankment. Maybe even travel back to where I was born, bred, courted, engaged and married although that is a little scary! (Hackney, Stoke Newington and Islington just for the record.)

My apologies for the late notice for this but I will be joining all of you for lunch at the designated time and place.

Damn - I can't make it. Have a great time all of you (and an extra one for me). I'll check out the results. My (grovelling) apologies for absence, force majeur etc. Next time?

I'll be there tomorrow, which means I'll be there for the GTG on Saturday - I finally decided to go! Just came home from work and *still* haven't booked a hotel, but I do have the plane tickets, out-of-office mail filled in at work, and a full tank of gas to ensure a trouble-free drive to the airport.

If anyone wants my cell number, let me know before 10:00 tomorrow morning. I'm really looking foward to the fun.

Wish I could come as I'd like to try out my new body and new 70-200 f4 L lens which I bought 2 days ago!

Just had a quick look at the weather and it looks like it will be cloudy, rainy, and warm. might be a bit of out door shooting but looks like most will be inside.

We just got home. I think I am half dead, I can't feel my feet and I fell asleep on the very bumpy tube ride home. It's been a long day but I had fun. Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

AMAZING STORY
After everyone left and went home, Amy (puzzled) and I decided to go on the London Eye, but we soon found out it would be like an hour wait, and it was already getting dark out, so the by the time we finally got on, the light would be non-existent. So, brilliant Amy described our situation to a super nice lady who worked there, so this lady litterally ran to me, got me out of the ticket line, took us to the front of the line to buy a ticket, then RAN out of the door, to the front of the huge line waiting to get on the eye, and we were now the first ones. But it gets even better. She gave us our own "pod"! We got to ride alone (well, with 2 other people) but usually there's something like 30 people jammed in there. It was amazing. We had the freedom to roam all around taking pictures at every different angle, set our lenses on the benches unattended...it was perfect. I bet the other GTG'rs who left earlier sure wished they could have been there!! We'll try again next time.
AMY IS AWESOME!!!
