Which leads me to ask the question...

How many of us have insurance on our cameras? I'm not sure if my home owners policy covers it....

Does anyone have camera specific policies? Where do you get them?

Ther have been several threads on this topic. You may want to try searching the forums to get all the different insurnaces. The one most mentioned, and the one I have is a personal property policy through State Farms. It covers $5000 worth of equipment (replacement cost) for just under $100 a year. I have all my camera equipment and my laptop insured under this policy. It doesnt matter if I lose an item, drop it, get it stolen, run it over with my truck, or otherwise destroy it (providing it was not on purpose).

I have Geico for my car insurance policy-holder. I called them the other day to get a quote for renters insurance (I don't own a home) and was quoted $135 for $20,000 of coverage. This includes all my home items and also my equipment when I take it with me on vacation. I'll be calling them today to start coverage.

P.S. I'm calling SIS and giving them the phone number where they can get you a 5D replacement .....j/k
