Glad someone is having some fun with all this! It ain't me... yet.
Not fair, not fair... I don't have a camera to take a picture. That must be my punishment. I can't enter. :(
But maybe we could make it a juried challenge and I could decide the ribbon winners. LOL!!
Thanks... I need a smile and you are providing it. :)

So in theory, we could print off the missing flyer, take a picture of it, and the, since there's no major element rule, chop it to bits? The way I see it, it can't be "literal art" since it's only pieces of a whole and pasted into a new setting and therefore would be an interpretation of the flyer, and it also came out of my camera during the appropriate timeframe.
Confirm? Just trying to powergame this for those of us with brilliant ideas and little hope of catching a paparazzi photo this week of the celebrity himself.
Edited for spelling typo.

That's what I was asking too. The problem with the flyer pic is it was taken by... well Steve, so technically he owns the copyright on the photo. Maybe he can post a mugshot and sell uss the rights to use it in the challenge ;) |

Hmm. Well, let's put it in perspective here. For those jumping fish wine glass shots in which the fish is actually a print, did the photographers take that shot themselves as well? My guess is that it's not always the case and SC isn't checking up on whether or not photogs have copyright permissions, hence the "literal artwork" rule (kinda). This is just a very obvious version of the same principle.

It's been a long day of meetings and airports, and I'm sitting here at home (finally!) laughing my butt off!
I can just see it now - photographers the world 'round running around with printouts of Mr Davidson, tacking them up in odd places and shooting pictures... too funny!
And thanks for the permission, Steve. |
