An odd topic if I do say so myself.

Does this have any thing to do with the recent photo theft thing?

Definitely. A lot of the twopeas people trekked over here to check us out, and strangeghost suggested a "Peas" challenge to "welcome" them, and it has come to pass. They seem like a nice bunch of people :-)

ROFL! I missed it! I was busy in the validation queue, and it's hard to watch my Peas and Queues.

Rice and peas fit into that category of dishes where two ordinary foods, combined together, ignite a pleasure far beyond the capacity of either of its parts alone. Like rhubarb and strawberries, apple pie and cheese, roast pork and sage, the two tastes and textures meld together into the sort of subtle transcendental oneness that we once fantasized would be our experience when we finally found the ideal mate.

You know what? I encourage everyone to really make fun of me now but what exactly is a pea, can someone show me a picture of a pea, the kind that we are supposed to photograph for this challenge.

I think it is those green ones, round and supposedly healthy but I wanna be 100% sure :)

The reason for me asking is language problems, last year in the april fools challenge, the one with the rubber duckie and grapes, I thought grapes meant grapefruits, green versions of an orange and I was surprised to see all those berries (the direct translation of grapes from Icelandic is "wine-berries") so I was extremely glad I didn´t have time for that one as I would surely have gotten lot´s of DNMC votes. This time I am afraid I´ll use a yellow corn pea and will then see only green peas in this challenge.

Sound stupid? Well I feel like it :P

Granted, there are lots of kinds of peas in the world, but I think the little green ones are the ones most english speakers think of when they hear "pea"
