Yesterday, dawn, the beach, straight from camera:

Same image after so many processing steps I totally lost track of it; the grunge is intentional...

I know it's sick, every now and then I have these flashbacks...

Oh no, that's absolutely OK LOL. I will do a "straight" version sometime soon :-)

Ok. Step AWAY from the computer, take a good long walk, maybe grab a stiff drink before you leave - but GET OUT OF THERE!!! ;^)

Anyway, looking forward to the "straight" version, but I'm sure that's gonna be great :)

Uh-oh. Based on the non-response I better mention...did you see the smiley at the end of my comment Robert? Big smiley with a wink even. ;^) Hmmmm.

No, I don't mind any of this :-) I just was away for a while; it happens sometimes...

Scott, that's a nice, subtle take on it. I have one pretty much like that. But my goal is to get some luminance in the flat foreground areas eventually.

This picture is interesting because in its natural state it already looks unnatural in the sky...

Here's another variation. For some reason I am fascinated lately with that contrasty-but-hand-tinted postcard look.

What say y'all?

I like the soft pastel-y look. And it would indeed make a nice postcard.

But what I really wanted to mention is tha if you're going to be "away", you need to provide two days prior notice, with the time and dates you'll be "away" and with the expected return. That way we can adequately plan for any Photoshop crises (crisises?) which may arise during your "away" time....

I'll do my best, ma'am...

I really like the treatment when I scroll so that it's cropped right above the lower person. I find the nearer beach overwhelming in your flashback version, but the sky and water have a watercolour painting effect that works for me :)
