I recently read an article talking about looking for the simple and elegant patterns in nature - people often look for the landscape shot, sometimes missing the simple beauty right at their feet. I thought I̢۪d put this idea to practice and went looking for the beauty in the abstract of nature. What do you think? Comments welcome!

Nice work. Presented well. I really like the 3rd and eighth ones.

Great series. Really like them all.

The last one - have you thought about trying it vertically? Just a thought.

Good work.

I like the composition and your frames. 75% of them look a little bit dark and flat though, just IMHO.

Thanks EVERYONE for the comments!

Regarding the images being too dark - I just started calibrating my monitor a few weeks ago and am finding the images appear very different now on various monitors. They look good on my calibrated monitor (at least to me), but some appear actually too bright on my monitor at work (which is not calibrated), so I am still finding the color/flatness of images presented on the web a little challenging (as the pics look different on each monitor, depending on calibration/or-no, brightness, etc). I'm almost thinking of just going with the calibrated monitor setting when printing, and just keep it regular for web pic development.

They look just right to me on my larger monitor - a bit bright on my smaller one. And yes, it really does vary alot (how pictures appear) from monitor to monitor, doesn't it?

....colour and tone - seems accurate, bright and vivid, very nice, not dark on my monitor. Am calibrated with GretagMacbeth.

Well, the first set of pic’s emanated from Point Reyes, CA. The following are from Filoli Gardens in Crystal Springs, CA (20min South of San Francisco). Unfortunately tomorrow is the last day of my vacation, so the picture taking will take a back seat once againâ€Â¦
