hooboy....just got a spam from Mpix.com. It was something different for me. The subject header was empty. Since I have Firefox set to not show images, when I opened it, there were just some text links showing. When I decided to show images this is what I got:

Is this an example of the new "image spam" that is able to evade most spam blockers?

I get emails occasionally from MPix. Have you ever used them? If so, maybe you are getting their newsletters.

I may have gotten something in the past, but never something like this. This was NOT a newsletter.

I've gotten them. I get them from Documounts too. *shrug*

Hmmm...that is kind of strange and I use them on a weekly basis for my prints and I haven't even gotten a newsletter from them. I'll keep an eye out if I get one. Thanks for the heads up.

Since I've done business with them (and they used the email addy I used for them) I didn't consider it spam, but I too use Mozilla and got the neutered text version. hehe

Okay, I just received one too. I just contacted MPix and asked them if they did indeed send out an email. I sent this link as well. I will let you know if I get a response.

Wow, that was fast. Here's the reply:

Jen,

Yes, we did send out a newsletter to all our Mpix.com customers. This is not spam. I will forward your comments to our web technicians to see if they know why this is happening.

Thank you.

I got some too. It just got deleted right along with the email from adfo9f9 and a093204r93 ... I ordered from mpix once. If I was in the mood to read something, I would have read it.

It's not like I get any more than one a month from them...that's understandable.

I got that same e-mail, its just mpix promoting their stuff.

Weird, I order from them all the time and I didn't get one. Now I feel left out. :-(

I just got another email from them:

Jen,

Below is the response from my IT manager.

There should have been a subject but it was an html email made up of images. Yes, we did send an image based newsletter and if there wasn't a subject it was an over sight.

Hope this clears it up a bit.

Yay! I got mine! I was feeling left out here considering the amount of business I give them.
