Best of luck out in the big, bad world Kirsty! Have a blast in Spain. I'm sure you'll make some great memories along with some great photographs.

Hey Kirsty - Thanks for the lot of comments you just left. I appreciate them and all the past ones. Good luck in the future in life and DPC. I will keep an eye on your progress here. I have enjoyed your work. Also - thanks for the suggestion on my profile pic. It is a nice change.

Kirsty - wishing you the best and encouraging you to share pix when you can :) Thanks for your participation.

My apologies... I didn't realize this was the "cliquey" part of DPC!

;)

I've some pics (48 of em) that I'd love some feedback on. I'll gladly return the favor on any comments/critiques that are left.

These are from the Calgary Stampede this past Friday. I was fortunate enough to get a last minute rental of a Nikon D100 and this is my very first foray outdoors, well anywhere other than the inside of the store, with a dSLR. I'm stoked with many of them and these are some of my favs of the 550+ pics I took that day.

Thanks in advance to everyone.
Oh, it's these ones!

then you should start your own thread with your pictures, this thread was for the 9 members that comment on eachothers pictures, if you want to become a member of the trading post and think you can give indepth comment on all challenge entries from the 8 members left then you will get comments on your challenge entries.

but this thred was only ment for the challenge entries from the members of the critique trading post team :)

hi

I Know I'm a bit late with the comments, but I'm leaving tomorrow for the Europe GTG so I will not be commenting until I get back in a week, I don't think I'll be entering any challenges either in the next week or so.

so please be patient, you'll get your comments when I'll get back from the nude shoot :)

You will be sharing some of the work you do while you're there, at least in your portfolio, right? Have a GREAT time and be sure to let us know how it goes!!

Hey kids! Thought I'd revive the old thread for a bit to congratulate Chalice on his 5th place in Zen!!! I was really thrilled to see that, by the way. Always makes my day when someone I "know" does well here.

Which brings me to... what the heck is your first name anyway?

WAY TO GO!! That was a very competitive challenge, too. Great score, great job!

On another note, Kirsty has been sticking the occasional picture in her portfolio from Spain - she's got some good ones in there.

I'll get to comments on this week's challenge shortly, except for you, Chalice. :-) You just get the congrats!

Bump?

Yes - another congrats to chalice. Love to see trading post names high up in the rankings.
08/08/2006 09:58:20 AM · #237
And congrats from me too chalice! I'll be getting around to comments soon too.

Hello.

Can new people join this or is it full?
08/08/2006 11:15:21 AM · #239
sorry I havn't commented on your pictures yet, I was about to start a couple of days ago, but when I checked the first portfolio I saw that 13 challenge entries was due for critique in just one portfolio...

so I decided to wait until things slow down a bit.. been working 18 hours a day since I got back from the GTG.

I will take the weekend to comment on your entries, at least some of them, I don't think I have the time to comment properly on over 100 entries if you have all been so active.....

and there are no pictures from me in any challenge yet... can't seem to find the time to turn my camera on....

We've had a couple of folks who've had to drop out. I didn't organize this group, but have been wondering if we'd like to add a few new folks. I'll leave it open for discussion among the remaining members - what say ye, folks?

Just make sure you post the pics from the GTG - then let us know and we can comment on those. I've seen a least a couple so far!

I'm fine with adding new people. Who dropped out besides Louis? Just be sure to let me know who to stop commenting on and who to start commenting on.

I still comment on Louis' stuff anyway. :-)

I guess no one has really dropped out - just some haven't been in many challenges lately, and Kirsty is in Spain having a good time... :-)

Hey Kelli - saw your comment in the Zen outtake - so I grabbed both your entries and played with them a bit in PhotoShop - used NeatImage (I have the free version, which is a bit limited, and I really am not entirely sure what I'm doing when I use it), levels, and a bit of hue and saturation. Don't know if you like 'em any better, but here they are:

And I don't think either of them are boring. :-)

I agree with Louis, you are awesome! I'm feeling a little low right now, so this picked me up.

Gosh you guys - you made my day! :-)

Hope you don't mind me playing with the pictures, Kelli - I really do think they're quite nice. I have never had any luck catching a bird in flight, and that one just has the nicest form to it. Just the right amount of water in the picture, too.

I don't mind at all. Feel free whenever you want. It always makes my day when someone can bring out what I saw since I never seem to get the photoshopping right. Plus I get nervous about the editing rules, so I try to keep everything as simple as possible. I play quite a bit more for my stuff at home. I'm going to have to buy NI since I really do seem to get a lot of noise in most of my pictures. I just got turned down by Shutterstock for noise. I have them all up on LuckyOliver though.

Thanks for all the kind words about my Zen photo. You all have been a big help each week, by your comments and examples of your own work. And it is a thrill to score so high...as others of you have experienced already. I think our group is a big help...not to mention fun.

(Sorry for being so slow to respond. I was getting used to this thread being unused. Nice to see some activity.)

...I forgot to add, Deb, that my first name is Jeff.
