Me...belittle you? You're joking right? You should go back through and read this thread from the start. There was no need to bring your stuff up publicly. It was made quite clear that you FLAT OUT REFUSED to listen to what the site council told you. From what I see, you were asked numerous times (not just once as you claim) to stop doing that. And from what I've read, you've refused every time.

I'm not trying to belittle anyone. These are facts, you were out of line and you're still out of line. Just forget about it and move on and don't copy/paste 2000 comments of "great job" -- sheesh just move on!!!

For someone who hasn't read the emails that she kindly offered to show you, you certainly seem to know everything that's going on. I COULD be justified (to myself) in lacking confidence in your grasp of this whole situation. When you accused me of missing the point, which I had JUST agreed with in the post that you quoted, well that tells me either you aren't understanding what people have written, or in your haste to jump on them you do not have time to absorb what people are trying to say. I actually DO AGREE with a lot of what you are saying and I DO have confidence in some of the positions you have stated; it just seems to me you'd be more likely to be listened to and taken seriously by more people if you calm down a bit.

No, certainly not joking about the comment that you make while quoting my response to the person above you.

Obviously, I have been in this thread from the start. Bringing my stuff out here publically is not a problem for me, but if I don't belittle anyone, I don't expect to be belittled.

By stating that I was requested numerous times, and not once have you asked to see the actual emails, you are making assumptions that just aren't true.

You say it was made perfectly clear? By whoses standards? You are obviously only willing to see one side of the story, because I've been open with this matter, and offered to show you the emails, but you have no interest. You'd rather sit there and try to give people the illusion that there was an outright refusal of something that was never made. I'd say that is trying to belittle me.

Funny how HB is not stating that what I am saying is untrue.

I think this is a good idea, personally... it started out as her just trying to provide information about missing comments, not argue. But has gotten out of hand a little, I think.

edit: And so I'm going to leave this thread and go shoot some photos. :-)

Why? Use the ignore thread option if you're tired of seeing this thread, or better yet - don't click on the link. Ha! There's a thought! ;^)

Hey, it was just a suggestion, I figured that this topic has run it course and is pretty much degraded into people getting pissed at one another. Do not think for one second that I don't enjoy the topic at hand.

Also, please do not assume that I'm incapable of turning on the ignore thread option or for that matter am unable to pick and choose what links I click.

JM2C, sorry if I offend.

I've been a member here for long enough to know that the site council doesn't lie. I've been a member here long enough to see people like you come through before. I know who's telling the truth and I don't need emails to prove anything. I am not trying to belittle you, believe me...I don't care enough about you or the situation to care about your feelings one bit. In all honesty, and I've said this time and time again throughout this post...

Admit you were wrong, stop doing it and just move on.

Someone asked on page 5...what are you trying to accomplish? What would it take for you to stop participating in this thread and you to be a happy camper? What will it take?

I'm STILL not arguing. At the beginning of this thread, I tried to answer the questions as to what was happening with the comments that were disappearing. HB's comments at that time were, 'since YOU want to bring this out publically...' Which was OK with me, but nowhere did I try to argue with anyone. Simply responding to all of the assumptions and preconceived notions that are being posted here.

However, with that being said, I won't allow anyone to try to make me look like a dissenter, nor a troll, nor an idiot. I have a high enough IQ, and a good education. I have a strong creative streak, leading me to this website. I have paid my money, equal to the rest of you, and expect the same level of respect that the rest of you expect. That includes expecting it from the admins and site management. I have never not shown any of you courtesy and respect. I've never disrespected the admins nor site management.

I asked questions, weren't given comprehensible answers. I asked more questions, and I've debated their unwritten standards. I have paid my money, and do not expect to be treated with anything less than dignity and respect.

No, I didn't REFUSE anything. Those of you who are ASSuming that I did are totally wrong, and I've offered to show you the proof. Not ONE of you have asked for it.

With that being said, have your fun, as I won't be a part to your attempts at degradation any longer.

OBVIOUSLY, THAT IS NOT MEANT FOR EVERYONE, AS MOST OF YOU HAVE BEEN VERY CORDIAL TO ME.

I wish everyone here happy days in your pursuits of digital photography. Once my final submission goes through it's process, I will not be back to this website. Admins here fail to recognize that I am their customer. I have paid my money to be a member here. Oh, until last evening, it has been well worth it, thanks to those of you who have been helpful (even though I didn't always understand everyone's comment or purpose in their comments). To those helpful and courteous people, thank you very much, your comments, no matter how small, have helped my pursuits, probably in more ways than you'll ever realize.

And I certainly have nothing left to say on this matter.

Hi. Where did you find the info you posted on comments? The closest thing I can find on DPChallenge.com to what you've posted is this, from the FAQ:

How do comments work?
Voters are highly encouraged to leave comments on photographs. During voting, simply type your comment in the space provided, and then click your vote. You may adjust your comments later.

After voting, you can add more comments on the photograph and see what others said about the photograph as well. As this site focuses on learning, please keep all comments constructive. Try to help the photographer with comments like how to improve the work or how to make it more appealing. Leaving comments also helps your own photography skills, as it teaches you to look at your own work more critically.

I Boldfaced the sections above for better clarity as to what I quoted, I put in between quotes. My opinion following outside of quotation marks is just that.

I think I did a "great job", but sometimes explanations like this are helpful and "encouraged".

mysgood...leaving permantly isn't the answer. Just listening to what the site council says would be the answer. Maybe a nice little break would be a good thing for you since you seem really upset by this. I probably said this a few pages ago, just accept what you did, learn from it and move on.

No one is expecting anything less of you than any other member. Had this been 90% of the population at DPC, this wouldn't have been an issue. I've had site council PM me about stuff before. I just listened and moved on, and it went away. Don't worry about it. Take a break and come back later. If the thread is on the front page, just don't click on it.

I love comments on my photos that really can help me, I don't care how htey get there.

"I sent her back an email, quote: "I PROBABLY" won't change the way that I leave comments, please show me your rule... And I asked for clarification on their rules."

The 1st half of the sentence, "I PROBABLY" will only incite anger.
The 2nd part, "please show me your rule... " is asking for facts.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

All in all the council-people do a great job, too. Some rules are hoped to be extended by common courtesy and sense. It's impossible to cover everything, it would be way too, long.

On the other hand, some important things, that may be ever-evolving, should not be left to be read "between the lines", or "in the forums" To a new member, that is a customer and a guest, it can be discouraging and frustrating.

Yes, sometimes they fail to make some rules fast enough, so does the US Comngress. I hope they add some FAQ's I've been hinting at in forums. I'll send an inquiry, soon.
