Kinda obscure but if you can find it - Climax Blues Band on an album called FM Live doing "Goin' to New York" has the audience really excited and doing a call & response with the band.

and...if I recall..the songs are live in front of audience at Cobo Hall in Detroit...

Little trivia for ya - the audience sounds on that album were dubbed in later in the studio. That is one of the LEAST "Live" albums there is (but it's still a good one). |

Live at Leeds by The Who was in 1970 I think, a classic by any measure. Also performed in `70 was their Isle of Wight concert but it wasn't released until the mid 90's, it's more complete 2 cd set with several songs from Tommy but didn't have the same impact so many years later.
Edit: Had to look up the date on this one - Allman Brothers Band's At Fillmore East came out in 1971.

| I vote for the Rolling Stones - I remember singing Satisfaction, Honky Tonk Women and Brown Sugar with Micky Jagger and about 65,000 of my closest friends on their Steel Wheels tour. Was better than when Gene Simmons & the boys in Kiss sang Hotter Than Hell, though that wasn't bad either. I would pay a huge sum to be in a crowd of people singing Susie-Q and a few other songs with John Fogarty, escpecially if the original Credence Ceearwater Revival was re-revived. |

Moody Blues Live at Red Rocks
This is really a great live Moody Blues Ablum. I have seen them perform twice in the last few years and they still really give a GREAT show!
I've been a Moody Blues fan since I was 16 - which was a long time ago since I'm 51. |
